Land rover height control module Into X5 4.8is??
2 Attachment(s)
After doing lots more research Into my situation. I've decided I'm 99% sure my wabco height control module is stuffed. I'll be damned if I'm paying the $1000 aud minimum for a new one..
The system is identical to the L322 land rover. The pump. Sensors. Accumulator. Valve block etc are all the same.. The control box looks the same. Besides 1 plug. ( and after looking up the pin outs the extra plug is unused by land rover anyway) and the land rover version is only $250 dollars.... My question is.. Is the can bus system the same in the land rover? I'm confident the box will work. But I'm not sure how the canbus communication will go... I'm very tempted to try it... I don't see how an identical part can be worth 4x the ammount because of the bmw badge lol. |
Anyone?

Ok Im trying to find out if this is possible. I will post back what I find.
|
Well I looked and the modules are probably swappable when first manufactured. What I cant find is if they can or if they need to be reflashed going from one vehicle to another like your wanting to do. So even if the module would work the software may not be compatible. I even found where land rover replaced the air compressor with a newer one and required a new controller so a land rover owner had to replace their controller in those situations.
Sorry I couldn't find a definite answer. |
This had a nice list of what could be used between the two in case you need other parts from one.

One last thing you might want to try. Make an account here :
Range Rover Mark III / L322 Then ask them if anyone knows. They seem to be pretty well informed on the l322. |
Air suspension by-pass
I've looked into this before....even downloaded the software L322 owners to override controls.
The extra connector which I believe was connected to boardmonitor and control panel. http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albu...cw1%20copy.jpg Really liked this module..... I was(?) planning to do.....piggyback to ecu....somehow. https://sites.google.com/site/ranger...on/Rovair2.jpg |
I did In fact find the pin outs for the extra connector. https://blackbox-solutions.com/help/SM048.html
Most of the pins are unused. It does nothing. I wonder how the rovair. Cntroller works. It really pisses me off how the land rover box is 240 dollars and the BMW one is 1000... |
Nice find!
Thanks for sharing! hmmmm......might revisit my notes again and this could be my next project. |
the only 2 pins in that connector that do anything are the power and the ground . witch would be hard to get power too ...
