WHITE LCD SATNAV SCREEN

Hi everyone. I have an E53, and replaced the LCD screen with a new one. The problem is that when I turn the ignition on, I get a white blank screen. The radio works, cassette mechanism, and CD works OK.Can anyone please advise what I need to do..?Many Thanks.

You could have an issue with the navigation computer, which is located in the left rear electronics compartment.

Thank You UCrewX5 for the reply. I have a 16/9 screen with the drop down cassette tape, if that makes a difference.Everything works even the illumination. I certainly can check the SATNAV in the compartment. Would it help if I rebooted the unit..? I have read that this may do it by switching the ignition on, hold the power and cassette buttons together. What do you think...?

If you just replaced the screen then you did something wrong on the install of the new screen or the new screen is bad would be my guess.

Hi Crowz. Thanks for the reply. So, I have re installed the original screen (with the dead pixels, but worked), and still showed a white screen, and everything works. This time, the white screen showed up the dead pixels in black.Any help or advice would be great. Thank You.

Let me rewatch one of those install vids for putting the new screens in and I'll see if I can spot where things would most likely go wrong on the install. One sec.

Watch this and see if anything stands out that you might of done wrong. I didn't see anything complicated but I deal with those ribbon cables all the time. People have issues seating them correctly at times. Also if the cable is creased to hard (bent to sharply) the inner wires can break.

Hello Crowz. OK Thanks for the link. I drove the car, and the LCD screen went from white to a black colour, everything is still working. Does the screen colour make a difference..? Thank You.
