Check engine light P0171
 

Light just came on tonight. Runs a little rough at idle. Scanned and found P0171 lean bank one. What are the most common issues associated with this code.

Air leak somewhere in the intake tract; check your lower intake boot search for P0171.

Thanks for the reply Scott. I removed the airbox, MAF and all the duct work out and inspected for splits, etc. None found. I did notice that one of plactic tubes was not seated properly into the rubber bellow attached to the engine. Reinstalled everything and something interesting happened. That code did not reset however P1349 misfire on 4 with fuel shut off is hard set and running rough as cob. I'm guessing I should start by swapping coils and see if thats it. Any others suggestions welcome.:dunno:

So I have an 02 E53 4.4

got gas... started running rough... ses light

at autoshit they got lean bank 1 and lean bank 2...

think it could maybe be the gas?? idle is rough sometimes but the kicker is the brakes go soft, so Im really thinking its a vacuum issue. But dont know where to begin looking. Tried the carb cleaner check and cant get it to pop up anywhere.

Im out of ideas...

Unplug your MAF and see if it runs better, if it does then there's your answer. (New MAF)
