Advice for 01 X5 50Tmiles for $32T
 

saw this 01 x5 4.4i for $32,000 grey color. Got the 2002 X5 already and because i love it, wanna get another one. I let my wife use the X5 for work and we share most of the time.

That sounds really steep, really.

Certainly a good reason to pick up another, but I'm surprised at the price, to be honest. Especially in Reno, since I noticed prices there are lower than they are here in NorCal.
Locally, I was quoted $34 for a dealership CPO 2002 4.4i with ~50k and warranty for 1 1/2 years. And that was in CA dollars. I got my 2002 3.0i for $24.5k with Factory Warranty through 2008 and $55k, with Premium, Sport, Cold Weather, etc, just no Nav. I'd expect NV prices to be a bit better than here, say in the $1500-2500 range discounted (I shopped neighboring states in Dec 05). You might find the X5 values forum on www.Edmunds.com helpful.

So anyways, unless this one you're looking at has some awesome upgrades, I'd encourage a bit of shopping. Also as others have pointed out here, issues seem most common with the original years, so an '01 may need a little more TLC than you've been used to with your '02.

How much should i get for this one. I know 2001 is a bit different and TLC to keep it long. Any suggestion in Northern Cal to get a nice used BMW or Delaers. Yes Reno is so hard to buy cars.

I'm looking to sell the 2001 X5 4.4i Topaz Blue/Black Sport, 19' Y-Spoke wheels, Cold Weather, etc (No Nav/Xenon) with 66800 miles in So Cal for somewhere around $25K or obo. I'm looking to sell it quick though. I may bring the car into a few dealerships in the next few days and see how much they will offer. I got a referral from a friend and they told me they maybe able to offer me some better trade-in numbers on my car. No accidents. No mechanical problem. Just the usual stuff, like the front driver/passenger door pulls start to peel. A few pixels burnt out. Other than that, windows and everything else work fine.
