Complete Struts

Anyone have any experience with Unity complete struts or those complete struts offerd on Ebay?

I just ordered a pair of them for my wife's pacifica.

From what I read the struts are good but the upper bearing is weak. So my plan is to save the old bearing from the top of the assembly in case I need it. Some claimed to have solved the weak upper bearing plate with the current ones but even if you only have to but that part later on its a steal price wise.

The order is somewhere in Florida at the moment on its way to Alabama.

Where did you order them from and would you consider them for your X5

I bought them on ebay from here :

As for my e53? No. But that is because I want to run koni struts since I can adjust them to the ride I like. I have the koni's on other bmw's I own and love them for the adjustable part.

If I didn't want the adjustability part I would try them at least once. They are so cheap it would be nice having a spare set of springs if nothing else. Also if you are not experienced working on cars and don't have a set of spring compressors and are wanting to do the job yourself then I would definitely go with them. All together like that will make the install a breeze.

UPS just updated the tracking on the struts for my wife's car and its showing the 17th so this Tuesday. I will shoot some pics and do a review of them when they come in if that helps.

Thanks - have you read any other reviews for these?

Crowz 10-13-2017 02:54 PM

I looked up a ton of reviews before I ordered them for the wife's pacifica. From what I read everyone was happy with them except the one long term test that said the top bearing plate failed. But since I plan on saving the current plates in case I need to swap them I'm not worried about it and the plate is cheap new so no biggy there either.

The one that had his fail was after 3 years too. But he said the struts were fine after 3 years just play in the bearing.
