Screen, head unit or something else?

Started having intermittent screen image issues on the OEM entertainment/GPS head unit a few months ago, frequency has increased to near full time. Had replaced the screen itself a couple of years ago for an unrelated issue and worked fine until this issue started. The system works fine otherwise including radio, CD, aux, as well as buttons, dials, etc... Any thoughts on whether this is a screen, head unit or other component failing? If so, any suggestions on repair facilities other than the screen which I can replace myself. Thanks in advance.

Easiest thing is to open it up again and check all cables, especially the ribbons.
