I discovered this about 3 months ago when I got my first X5 and was doing research and ever since I've been looking at the very cheap 4.4s for sale and wondering...
It might even be possible to get the power out of a 4.4 (with turbo(s)), brembo, KW for the chassis, a bit of welding (which I can do) for strut bars and roll cage. Wheels and tires are easy. Gutting the interior and 4 reccaro seats... Its a budget but how cool would it be? Two issues I have with this plan (maybe three if I include my GF's looks when I talked to her about it) : - No chance in hell I can get it road legal her, event tinted windows are borderline. - What the hell would I do with it? it its for track use, the X5 is not the right project. But I love the dream. |
Just wondering, what front spoiler and side mirror is this Le Mans using?

Edit: NVM... I think it's a custom/modified front end. Could have started life as an aero kit front end maybe. |
Interesting. All this time I thought the wheels were BBS LM's. Just read in a forum that they are BMW Motorsport type e28.
I assume instrument cluster and steering retrofit from e39 M5. |
