06 4.8 N62 AGA coolant pipe install - in Process

Just wanted to drop a few lines on my current progress of the AGA pipe install. Just install the pipe this afternoon and tighten

I am very impressed with the AGA pipe. Good quality engineering.

Pretty much everything from AGA is top notch, well engineered and tested product which demands high price.
Than you have people complaining about the price instead of complaining to BMW for producing inferior part.
You should be set now after install.

Completed the valley pan, coolant pipe and both banks valve gaskets with spark plug tubes replacement. Very happy with work and parts. On my 1200 mile of 2500 mile road trip after repair and no issues engine temp 217-222F.

Don’t forget to pressure your coolant system before you install the intake manifold. I pressure test mine at 16 psi over night 12 hrs and lost 1 psi.

How many hours of work does that job require ?
I am thinking about doing that, including the valve cover gasket, even thought I don’t have any issue, just to feel better, and give the x a cookie.

Btw mine is a 4.6 but I assume it is approximately the same job

Way to keep it clean!!! I work the same way :)

Can I suggest putting a lower pressure cap on after you put it back together. I truly believe it has saved me from this job and will continue to do so for years to come!

MotorSports1207 how many miles do yo have on the clock?

I went this route ( https://www.germanautosolutions.com/...12_bar_cap.php )

Then i realized after you can just get one from the parts counter at BMW or order it online. they all state the pressure on them. I think the BMW one is 1.4 bar now.

I have been running the GAS one for years without any issues. I add about a cup of blue bmw coolant per year.

I wonder why the "application list" only lists the 3.0i motor for e53?
