bmw assist vs. AAA

I just got a notice that my one year of BMW assit, which one gets with a new car, is up. BMW wants me to enroll, and so does AAA. Has anyone got some thoughts on which is the better deal?

One of the benefits of AAA is it is vehicle independent. The BMW Assist package only pertains to that specific vehicle.

AAA doesn't have a cool button on the roof!

It has to be the most expensive cool button you may never use.

you still have bmw road side assist, which will jump, tow and what not for free. so i would say forget both of them and use road side assist. if you want a concierge type service, go with bmw assist

i got AAA recently (2 for 1 deal, so i added wife). what i like about it is that it covers not only me and wife, but the both of us whenever we ride with someone else. so if i'm riding with my brother in his car and we get locked out the car, i can call AAA for a locksmith.

you also get a lot of travel and other discounts; check out their website!!!

i like AAA and my insurance covers towing and rentals etc if I need it.... I never used BMW assist in 5 years that I had an X5.

AAA is the best. Like Gresch, our insurance and WarrantyDirect both cover rentals and towing.

I went with AAA for all the above mentioned reasons. Did not use BMW Assist my first year, too expensive for what you get, and just don't see the benefits of going with them.

I have never called BMW Assist. I have however, called AAA a couple of times for the X5. (Dead battery. )

I recently got a letter from BMW re: my Original Owner Protection Plan extended warranty that includes roadside service. Guess what? As of January 1 this year, "all roadside assistance benefits and services will be provided by AAA." What does that tell you? AAA all the way.
