Tire pressure warning light - how to switch off?

Hey,
I have 2004 e53 3.0d
Yesterday i run some tests and this light appears:
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5dbdb9a3a9.jpg
I don't have button for switching this off.
Also i check every tire and they are between 2.2 and 2.5 so no problems there ( 255/50/19 front | 285/45 /19 rear)
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Turn the ignition to position 2 (on) and press and hold the TPMS button on the console above the ashtray for 10 seconds.

I have no clue if this will work but its worth a try.

Quote:

1. Ensure all tires are inflated to the pressure listed on the tire placard.
2. Start engine.
3. Hold turn signal lever in the up or down position until TPMS indicator and reset
are displayed.
4. Press button at end of turn signal lever.
5. Press and hold button at end of turn signal lever until a check appears after reset.
6. Vehicle must be driven to complete relearn

You don't have a button on the center console that has the same image as the warning light on it?

damyanov 12-29-2017 03:26 PM

Here is my central console:

That's weird. Maybe they didn't put them in the european models? Do you have the owner's manual? Info should be in there. Also, check the drivers side door pillar. Mine has a sticker that tells how to reset the tire warning. Maybe yours does too?

wpoll 12-29-2017 03:38 PM

Euro models have the TPMS button - well, usually.

I think we are missing the obvious here. damyanov, what tests were you running (and how) before this light triggered? As folk say, there are no coincidences.... :D

I can see there is a warning message (or more than one) in your cluster - what is that warning?

I unlock hidden features and run test #13 for gong test (still no sound there. After replacement too). And test #2. After this one the light appears :)

And what is the hidden cluster warning message?

Overboost 12-29-2017 03:50 PM

I think wpoll means what is the error between the triangles on the display readout?

Tire pressure warning light - how to switch off?

There is two:
1.Contr. luci retro. - dunno what is that
2. Contr. Luci posizione - which is front indicator bulb

Did not intend to correct your post, I know what you meant but I am not sure the OP does. Just wanted to clarify it for him.

Is the first one a failed rear (tail) light? If "luci posizione" is a front position lamp then it seems logical that "luci retro" is a rear light. :D

Failing tail lights are common in these cars - dodgy connections to the lamp. Look into this sooner rather than later, as the tail light fitting can become very damaged by heat if left for a long time.

So neither warning relates to the TPMS warning then.. Hmmm.. Maybe time for a battery pull? Remove the battery negative cable for 10 mins then reconnect and see it it resets everything? :dunno:

Overboost - I didn't take you comment as anything other than helpful.

I'm afraid doing this. Is this will reset my key too? And need to program it again?

Try the PDC button on your console. Push and hold. If it's like mine it takes about 15 seconds or so.

Will not reset your key. You will get a DSC light on the cluster which you clear by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.

A battery pull reset will NOT affect your key programming. The only thing you may have to reset afterwards would be the clock. It will also reset any fuel usage statistics and distance recordings in the onboard computer (but not the odometer!).

If that doesn't work you will need to either get a laptop running with the BMW diagnostic software (INPA at a minimum) or take the car to a dealer on an indy for diagnostics. :(

damyanov 12-29-2017 04:29 PM

Ok guys thanks a lot. Tomorrow will try pdc button and removing negative from the battery. I will keep you in touch

PDC is Parking Distance Control - does your PDC button reset your TPMS?

Fifty150hs, I've had my battery disconnected several times and I've never seen a DSC light or had to reset the steering etc. Maybe the diesels are different in this respect...? :dunno:

Overboost 12-29-2017 04:37 PM

I get a 4x4 light when disconnecting the battery but a quick turn to full right and then full left cancels it.

damyanov 12-30-2017 10:58 AM

After battery disconnecting, everything is fine now :) thanks to everyone
