Coolant leaking via Spring clip
2 Attachment(s)
Recently replaced my coolant reservoir and I notice that the coolant is leaking at the lower hose at the bottom of the tank via the spring clip.
Tried my best to squeeze that sucker on but it still leak when under pressure. Has anyone every have that problem with coolant leaking from the spring clip? Thinking of putting a high temp sealant until I can get the hose replaced. Ugh - now I have to drain again!! Looking at REALOEM, I see the diagram for the hose but I don't see the part number. Anyone can direct me to the part number for this hose (see pic with red arrow) |
There's a 0-ring inside these clip-on hoses that might need replacing. Easy fix but yeah, you'll have to drain it down again.

Your existing o-ring may be okay but have some foreign object (small piece of crap) caught in it. Cleaning it and lubing it with some coolant before assembly may help seal the joint. Clea down the mating tube face also. |
Yup it's the N62. '04 4.4i
I looked at one of my old hose and it does have a ring wedged in there....never noticed. Once I drain it i will use my pick tool to pull it out and take it to Autozone for a match. Thanks for the feedback. Learned something new. Next up...power steering return hose replacement. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk |
