Driver's door will not open from the inside
Searched, but not successfully. Driver's door all of a sudden quit opening from the inside, but will open from the outside. The first pull of the door handle still unlocks the door, but the second pull does nothing. Any thoughts?

Will it open if already unlocked? If the pull lifts the lock button, the cable is working.
It "feels like" something broken in the door actuator. Does it "dry fire"? As if double locked? Or do you feel some resistance like it's trying to do something? Test the double lock system by locking yourself into the car using the key. Lock twice to disable the internal motion sensor. You should not be able to open any door from the inside. The override is to hold down the central lock button then pull the door handle it should unlock the door. Try passenger first then driver. Maybe something is stuck and working through the overide will break it free. Warning: opening the door will set off the alarm be prepared to put the key in the ignition or press unlock on the fob to disable the alarm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
So I successfully opened the door from the inside after unlocking before attempting the first pull. The door opened. So I tried to duplicate my original problem and couldn't. Maybe something gummed up in the mechanism, but for now it works. Thank you for the recommendation -- if it stops working again, I'll go through the steps you outlined.

It felt like something got out of sync and the door was still double locked. It concerns me that something may be broken vs gummy. Practice the escape method and teach your family. I've accidentally locked my son and nephew in the car when I instinctively locked the doors as I went into pay for gas.
