What gives with part number 5?

Trying to find one and i might not be using the right search terms...
cargo floor holding clip, tether, strap, stupid plastic thing that broke?

anyone got an idea?

2006, though i imagine it's the same throughout the range.

So's mine. They must have changed something that realoem isn't showing because I don't have that spare cover. Neither does my wife's '06. Usually when they have numbers grayed out like that it's because the part is actually part of another part. I'll look at my owners manual. I think they name that strap in the tire change instructions.

So were supposed to be able to store stuff under the cover? I figured raising the deck lid was just to get to the spare tire aka that's what you see when I raise the cover on mine.

Anyone have a shot of that area with the cover in place?

Checked my owners manual and unfortunately they don't give it a name beyond take the loop end and attach it to the trunk cut out to hold the cover open. So maybe try "cover loop end"?

Stock replacement part is 20 in the diagram.

Some x5s came with an easy unload spare thingy that makes it easier to get the spare out without using the plastic hook.

If you used your VIN to pull up the diagram...and the number in the illustration is "grayed-out"...then it means your vehicle DOES NOT use that part.

Playing around with build date & model info...you can see in the link below that #5 is only used up to the 7/2003 build date. As mentioned above...if you need the strap that holds the cargo floor up...that would be #20 in the diagram:
