Transmission Issue?

Hi Guys,

Sometimes when i'm going uphill at a steady slow speed the rev counter needle keep jumping and dropping (like it cant decide what gear to be in), and I also sometimes feel the car shuddering.

Another thing is when i am coming to a stop, the rev counter dips below the first line and the car jerks forward. This can most times be avoided if coming to a stop very slowly but it is annoying regardless.

Is this something simple to fix or do I need to get rid of the car before something major happens? haha.

I suggest taking it to a well recommended independent transmission shop that is familiar with BMW transmissions for diagnosis. Transmission symptoms can be misleading as to core issue.

Forgot to mention it tends to happen when the car is fully up to temperature.

Scan Scan Scan! With a real scanner, not a generic code reader. I use Rheingold. Use it on all BMW's. Old and new.
