Installed H&R lowering springs 29378.1
I installed the H&R lowering springs 29378.1. It's for air ride rear suspension only and consists of 2 springs for lowering the front and 2 links for lowering air ride suspension on the rear. My problem is that those two links are supposed to be adjusted to 65mm in length per H&R instructions manual. I also called them to confirm. But that makes the links longer than the factory ones. Rear ride height is now at 29 1/2 (749mm).
Does anyone have these installed on their single-axle air spring sports suspension? What is your rear ride height? Should I just adjust the links to make them short or install back the factory ones? The factory ones are shorter than the H&R links even when shortened to max. |
Ok, I was able to bring the rears down to 715mm via DIS. Fronts are at 708mm. Looks good:thumbup: Pics to follow soon.

Factory settings for a 4.8is are 707f and 709r (w 20 inch rims), surprised that your 4.4 was that high to start with.
Looking forward to seeing pics |

Not much of a drop -25mm rear 30mm front - which was exactly what I wanted.

Looks good. Very minor drop, but it is noticeable.
Side question; do you have any problems with jacks or jack stands on that flooring you have in the garage? Need to do something about our bare concrete... |

If you want something that is easy to clean and very durable: https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-25...70_&dpSrc=srch
It's what I put in my garage. Easy to do and easy to keep clean. |
I have the H&R kit installed. I purchased links that can be adjustable to drop the rear more than the H&R links allowed. It was years ago and don't remember the source. Only issue I have had is if I jack it up until the rear wheels are off the ground the links allow the arms to go the wrong direction over center when I drop it back down. Spacers will also help fill the wheel wells some more if that is what you are after.

Yikes. $3.69/sqft is out of my budget. Especially for a house that will be a rental property in a few years. :) I'll have to go with an epoxy like you did fifty.

Looks like the suspension has settled and I also shortened the links further. Front now measures at 702mm and rear 704mm, measured when vehicle is 100% level on a lift. Now, asked the alignment shop if the height change will have any impact on alignment. They said yes, height adjustment affects alignment geometry and needs to be redone. I gave them an askance look. What is the experience of you guys?
