Complete Power Train flush for a 3.0
 

I'm looking at the easy way out for the current fluids available.
Does any know or have a link to the correct fluids for both diffs, the trani, and the transfer case ?

In some cases it depends on the year and model. Some folks use OE fluids and some use aftermarket choices. I suggest going to a website such as ECS tuning, FCP euro, Bavauto etc. where you can enter the year and model of your X5 and it will pull up the correct fluids. Other than engine oil, since the design of diffs, transmissions, transfer cases included the fluid. I use OE or OEM fluids.

3.0 takes ll01 approved oil, which typically a castrol euro 0w40 or liqui moly 5w30 or you could also use mobil 1 0w40. Both castrol and mobil 1 euro 0w40 are readily available at walmart.
Transfer case in your car is not xdrive, so you dont have to get the expensive xdrive specific fluid.

Does your car have a GM or ZF transmission? Either way you can get Castrol fluid specific to the transmission and is currently on sale at advance auto.

Diff tajes 75w90 gl5 fluid. You have lots,of choice for gear oil, most popular is the redline 75w90.

I run Liquimolly 5w - 40 to reduce oil consumption. I have 210k miles on my 3.0.

Should have mentioned that there are many folks that feel strongly about a particular brand of fluids they use. There is no way of knowing for sure that any one brand is the best or most popular. For example, there are many threads here about the best oil to use. There is never a consensus, not even close. There are industry standards for these fluids. As long as the fluid you choose is the same standard as BMW recommends for your particular vehicle, there shouldn't be a problem using that brand. Except in extreme cold or hot climates there is no reason to deviate from recommended weights other than to mask a problem rather than fix it.

I deal with an OEM parts place and he gave me Ravenol Transfer Fluid TF-0870.
i'm not sure if this is for the drive model transfer cases.
All these numbers and specs!! lol.
