Automatic Headlights Retrofit .
Has anyone done this? is the vehicle prewired or am i looking at a wiring mess?

If your talking about the ones that turn into curves aka swivels the headlights left and right those are adaptive headlights.
Mega expensive and hard to repair if a problem comes up. |

Not sure on that one. Mine had it already.

You need an automatic headlight switch and a rain/light sensor behind the mirror on the windshield. You may need a windshield if your X5 does not have the prism for the rain/light sensor. If your X5 is 2004+, the wiring should already be there so it would be a fairly easy upgrade. I did this on my E46 without any issues including the wiring and windshield replacement.

If you put DIY the RLS pay attention to the glue you’d use. It must be transparent when dried.
This product is for that : https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...53ff34ef1c.jpg You can Google it. I had a bad installation 2 years ago, a broken windshield bla, bla. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...76f8e5a6ca.jpg It didn’t work since then. RLS because is Rain Light Sensor and commands both functions. I’m close to start scrapping that glue from the windshield but I’m not sure how. I don’t want to brake the windshield. any suggestions on how to remove the glue and what to use to glue on a new sensor?
