ABS module removal

For those that have removed your ABS module, front headlight enough to do the job ?

Just wanted to slot some time on the calendar for this....and time is not on my side. Going to need a rebuild.

BBA seems to be 1/3 of the price of Module Masters. Probably going BBA route, unless someone who says MM is worth the extra

Going through some past thread. Anybody else. Seem like more than 1 person has had the bolt broken and need to extract it out

It's tight, but front headlight gives enough room to remove ABS module.

I was able to unbolt and move the oil filter / power steering fluid mount and coolant tank out of the way enough to get at it from the top on my 01’ 4.4. There was a YouTube video I spotted with this method that really helped.

Module rebuild wise I went with the Module Master rebuild and the module is working great again.

Here’s the video with the scoop on stacking things up to get to it:

Hi Vin -

Just saw the video. Go figure, but that utuber did have a issue with one bolt. I came across a older forum members posting who had issue with one as well. I think the issue is like the battery terminals....they're stainless and either it's seized or just some funky galvanic corrosion and hence the removal=shearing

I must have been fortunate to avoid any corroded fasteners when I did my unit, but stacking up the coolant tank etc definitely saved me a lot of time and hassle.

Hope your repair goes well!
