front washer jets are intermitent ???????

my windscreen washer jets seem to work when they want.
i have washed to screen wash reservoir out, put a new pump on and blown the pipes out with compressed air.
but still only works occasionally.
what should i check next?
thanks

Switch the connections with the rear pump. Can determine if it's the pump or the hose Etc

Ran in to the same issue with mine.. or so I thought. Turns out that the headlight washers have a mind of their own, BMW actually told me that they run an algorithm that makes them cycle every "X" use of the windshield washer sprayers and that algorithm is based on number of cycles, time passed and current speed... that said, I find that if I blip my washers twice in quick succession that the headlight washers will cycle also. Side note I find that mine spray about every 3rd / 5th press of the stalk.

Good luck!

I thought he said headlight but he said windshield. I've read the headlight spray is every 5th spray but may have other input such as is the window wet.

Not according to the manual in my car. Every fifth use AND the headlights need to be on.

Oh brother, too late for my brain to be working, meant to say windshield washers should spray every time, not headlights - I had headlights on the brain for some reason...

right, have swapped the front and rear pumps around etc. and all the same.the front screen work, then stop working, then work. there is always a pump noise.
disconnected the pipe on the actual jet washer on the bonnet (t piece ) and it worked. then connected it back up, tried again, pump working but nothing coming out.
here's the questions.
the actual jets on the bonnet have 2 wires each, going to a connector. never seen this before.
could these wires be bad? what fuse would thiese be?
what do i do next?
thanks

The purpose of the wires have been addressed in another thread (they're for heating)...but have you tried cleaning out the jet nozzles? Sometimes the jets can get clogged (just like household nozzles...like your shower head) and may be calcified. If you have a straight pin or needle...insert it gently into a nozzle opening and give it w poke...perhaps there's a calcium or other inert matter blocking the nozzles.

i did have black gunk floating around the tank. cleaned that out and new pump.
the rear and headlamp washers are working as they should.
i want to remove the jets to give them a clean on both ends.
