2006 X5 E53 4.4 replacing the ABS
 

:stickpokeIn the never ending attempt to fix the brake pedal problem on my wifes X5 I have replaced the Vacuum pump, the one way valve, the Vacuum booster, the Master Cylinder and now....the ABS unit. I replaced the ABS unit for two reasons...I couldn't bleed the brakes...and INPA couldn't find the ABS unit at all. Got one from a not so close yard and changed it out. Then I find that it has to be coded to the car...or the car has to be coded to it...or maybe both.

I have SSS/Progman 32...haven't used it yet....But don't immediately see a way to add the ABS.

Theres just tons of conflicting info on the web about this issue.

Im asking for some help here...both to understand the process and to get this done. Thanks in advance....Wrench255
