4 Attachment(s)
I got a 2002 x5 4.4i... this is probably going be a a dumb question. But do you guys think I can repair the suspension module? Looks like water got into the battery compartment and mess up the module.. i was going clean it with some rubbing alcohol and also can anyone tell me what the big box is, it was also in the battery compartment next to the suspension module and it also got water damage

If anyone was curious of where the module was located on a 2002 x5 4.4i battery compartment remove the 3 screws and lift of the cover

That suspension module is toast. Pick up a used one... last one I got was <$50. The other silver unit is the radio unit.
Do yourself a favor, check your rear sunroof drains. And then drill some small holes into the bottom of that box so if water does get in there again, it doesn't fill up the well and fry the electronics again. Had this exact issue happen on my 05. |
Wow. Yes, that circuit board is definitely toast.
So glad I don't even have that component in my X5. As these cars get older, less is often more. |
So another dumb questions for you guys lol.. is this the reason why the back of the car is sagging and why my radio isn't working? I tried bypassing the pump relay while the air hose was still hooked up but it didn't raise the bags up at all.. the suspension pump was running when I did the bypass but it didn't do anything. Tryin to make sure before I order a new module

Cheapest one I seen on ebay was 100
|
Yep, that is exactly why your radio is not working. Not sure about bags not raising when pump is running.
|
First guess on the leveling would be a worn out pump, a leak in the bag(s) or a leak in the lines...

Just got in the suspension module yesterday and as soon as I plugged it in pump motor came on and suspension raise to regular height.. I'm so relieved it worked crazy lol... thank again for everyone help and I did drill a few holes in the battery box like crystal mention
