Ebay - Search on 4.6 Rims

Hey guys,
I need to purchase for rims for my X5 asap. For now, I just want to purchase some 4.6 rims. I searched on Ebay and there are soo many and I dont know which ones to purchase. The dealership in my area are asking 3800 and I dont know if thats a good deal or not.I was just wondering if some of you guys can suggust me on some and post some links. Doesnt have to be OEM. So then I can get a ruff estimate on the price of the rims. Thank you so much. Cuz i alwasy have a bad experience with ebay. thanks again.

I got my rep 4.6's off eBay over a year ago. They came with the OEM tires already mounted, I paid a little under $3,000 shipped. So I would look for a deal between $2500-$3000 for the rep's with tires.

The OEM price you were quoting sounds about right.

Check out Lakeshore Wheel and Tire Quite a few members here have bought wheels from them. They also carry 4.8 wheels and style 132's in 20".

I just bought OEM Style 87's off ebay from Nitrous Garage, I paid to have them chromed and balanced, total came to $2250 shipped! It was an amazing deal for OEM's (another member on X5World checked them out in person for me and confirmed they were legit), they had slight curb rash on one of the rims but the chroming took that out.

If you want some nice replicas try AFS on ebay, they have a good reputation. You can get odd sizes like 20 / 9.5 all around, which is cheaper for buying new tires! They wanted $1600 for that set.

yOU CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE ON EBAY. oNE COMPANY called eurotech has the 20 inch 4.8is rims (the best ones out now) for 995.00 w/o tires. thats a sick deal, and you'll really stand out in the crowd

Ouch watchs the Caps :)

CLEE3 read this thread before buying replicas http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x3/w...mw-wheels.html

Like I said eariler, if you look hard enough you can find a good deal like I did that have OEM's at a low price. I forgot to mention my OEM Style 87's also came wrapped with Diamaris for $2250, so check out NitrousGarage you may find a helluva deal.

Good Luck to ya.

I checked out LWT today as a result of this post. I got really excited about their claimed OE Style 87 Star Spoke, as I want factory 4.6 wheels on my 4.8. I went about the online ordering process, noting there were OEReplica and just plain OE options, and choosing the OE. Their OE pricing was about half of retail, when the best internet pricing from an Authorized BMW Service/Parts center was about 25% off.

How do they do that, I wondered? Do they source directly from Ronal or BBS or other OE manufacturers? No, not exactly. They source from prior owners, as the only OE wheels they sell are used, damaged, and then refurbished. Now I spent a good thirty minutes digging around on the site, and I did not find anything telling me that I was about to purchase refurbished wheels!! I could easily have pulled the trigger and have been none the wiser until the cat was out of the bag.

I have no problem whatsoever with folks selling refurb'ed products. It p!sses me off, however, when they're not explicit and direct about doing so.

Oh well. Back to the $tealer!

You're absolutely correct. Lakeshore sells refurbished OEM rims. They don't disclose this information on their website, but on eBay, they describe themselves as a "... an online distributor of quality refinished OEM (factory original) aluminum alloy and chrome wheels (i.e. rims )." I could not buy a refurbished rim without knowing why it had to be refurbed. The OEM refurb rim could be previously bent or cracked wheel, making it worse in quality than a replica.

Will,

Did you get your wheels yet? $2250 for refinishing the lips and chroming? That's the best deal I've seen in a while. If you didn't buy the rims, I would have...

You're going to have to get some dustless brake pads to keep those new rims sparkling.

Regards, Mike

There is nothing wrong in going the OEReplica route. I don't think the OEReplica wheels LWT sells are refurbished. Myself and quite few other members here have bought wheels from them and I have not heard any complaints. I bought 18" Style 87 OEReplica and there is no OEM for that size. Same with 20" style 132s, no OEM for that size either. They are manufactured new. I had followed the instructions in the OER buyer article
The OER wheels read "Made in Italy" on the wheels and on the box.
