? Parasitic draw 03’ X5

I seem to have a current draw when truck is off.

Found that cabin fan turns on rradomly and softly for 3 to 5 secs. I also see a .1 v draw on my mm. After sitting in the front seat, when the fan turns on, I feel air on my feet.
Truck does go into sleep mode.

looked for info. No luck yet. FSU? Which fuse to check? TIA

Almost every time happens it's the final stage unit FSU also known as the final stage resistor FSR. It was the first repair I did on my wife's X5 it's very easy to get to from the right side of the transmission hump.

Thanks
Will order a new one and replace it, I just don’t get how the fan can run with truck turned right off....

It was the telematic unit in my case.

It's the bluetooth module. If you have factory bluetooth you have a telematic control unit(TCU). One of several common culprits for parasitic drain. The common causes are the Nav/radio, the TCU and the FSR.

Hum... not sure that I have the Bluetooth setup. No map or any Nav system. I do have the tel buttons on the dash and steering wheel. It’s an 03 with sports package.

I looked at a fuse diagram and think fuses 7, 73 and 74 are related to the telematic (phone system?).

I’ll try pulling them tomorrow. Battery is now at 11.16 V and won’t start the engine. Dropped it to 10.5V after 2 tries.

Will charge again tomorrow AM and pull fuses to see.

Thanks for the feedback.

A lot of parts on the X5 have power supplied all the time and they're operated by a pwm module that pulls to ground. When something goes haywire and that's switch doesn't open and stays closed whatever it's operates will stay on

Unlikely to be the telematic in this case - a faulty FSR can cause the fan to run - which is happening in this case. Can't see the telematic unit causing the fan to run. ;)
