A/C Condenser
Hi all,
Just partially rebuilt my A/C system. Purchased a Behr brand Condenser(64536914216). Upon attempted installation, come to find out it is about half an inch short from OE brand(Modine). Since it was short, it would not firmly/correctly seat in the holder. Has anyone else rebuilt their A/C or switched out their condenser and can add in their experience of what brand part you used and if it fit EXACT?? Thanks Also called and spoke to someone at Modine Corp.......She informed me they don't make the part anymore and don't make aftermarket stuff either. It was interesting chatting with her! Steve |
I replaced the one in my 03 3.0 with the behr unit. The actual part number is BEH-351300631, the BMW pn is the same as the one you posted. It seemed to fit perfectly.

Hi all,
Joshdub, thanks for the reply. The condenser you bought is the EXACT same one I bought. I was there, helping my mechanic do the swapout(to learn) and we realized that the Behr wasn't seating correctly when trying to secure it. So, we took it out and compared the 2 together(I took pics of them on top of each other to prove to vendor that parts were not EXACT match). I still have pic....will try to post it soon. Anyway, when you installed yours, how did you make up for this size discrepancy in regard to seating it correctly(mine would've been kinda floppin around in compartment)/screwing down new condenser into mounting holes, since it was a half inch SHORTER than OEM???? Anyone else use any other brand(Nissens, etc), other than OEM(Modine)???? Steve |
