Steering Rack
 

So I brought my X in few days ago to get the rear brakes done and I off-handedly mentioned that I was hearing a clicking noise now and then when I was turning the vehicle in tight spaces...parking for example. They checked it out and indeed there was a problem apparently with the steering rack and they had to replace a few things:

My question is was this a serious problem? If I hadn't noticed anything or mentioned to the dealer could this have become a larger problem? They seemed to think it was a big problem and it took them 3 days to fix:tsk:

I must say though that the steering is tighter than ever before...feels kinda starnge actually!

I am getting some very faint clicking noises as well sometimes when I am turning at max. I am assuming this is bad? Hopefully its an under-warrenty issue.
