Sorry for the late response. Busy couple of days. Yes, the alternator is working well, thanks for the suggestion though! The X5 had been sitting for awhile up until a month ago when I purchased it and the battery had gone flat. I jumped it to get it home then trickle charged it overnight. That lasted about a week. I started working on the CV axles. While I was pulling the front sub frame out to retrieve a CV joint that was stuck (See https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...t-get-out.html That was a long story) the battery had died again. I honestly thought I'd left a light on or something, so I trickle charged it again. A week after I got it back on the road the battery finally gave up the ghost. Had everything else not been going on I probably would have caught it sooner. The day before the battery died I had one other symptom. The Navi screen would freeze up. It would freeze on and off all day. The stereo worked just fine, but the display had a mind of it's own. Now that everything's back to normal the screen is fine but my navigation has conked out completely. Won't recognize the map or the update DVD's. I use my phone to navigate, so it's not a big deal. Just strange...
