fuel guage problem
 

I know this has most probably been asked before but I cant find anything.
filled the m62 up other week, gauge went to full ,range of 320 smiles
car dropped to in-between 34 and full as I used it, and hasn't moved again,
yet my range on computer is going up,
pump or sender?
or im getting really high petrol consumption
and no my steering wheel isn't on the wrong side :)

Yes it is! haha! Sounds like a bad sender in one side of your tank.

A scan will tell you if your sender is bad. Had it happen on one my X5s, ran a scan it pinpointed the sender as being faulty...

You can also check the phase reading in the hidden BC menu #6 - Phase 1 indicates both senders are working - Phase 2 indicates one or more of the senders isn't providing data.

Oh, and while the steering wheel IS on the correct side (:rofl:), the clock symbol on the service section of the cluster indicates you are overdue for a brake fluid flush (every 720 days....)

- Add one bottle of Techron F.I. cleaner at each fill up for about 3-4 times. This should fix the fuel sender issue.

Wpol , no , I just put the ignition on , all them lights go out when its running :)

Exactly. This is the only time that clock symbol will appear - when you first turn on the ignition AND the brake fluid flush is due. ;)

When the brake fluid flush is not due, you won't see the clock symbol - at all - even when you first turn on the ignition.

Check your BC hidden menu - #3.2 (SI-TAGE:xxxx). It's a count down (in days) from the value set after an SI reset - 0720 days (2 years) to start with. When it hits zero, it lights up the clock symbol - but only when you first turn on the ignition - it goes out with the green/yellow SI indicators.

I'm assuming this applies to the UK cars. I know it doesn't apply in the USA cars but mine does this and it's an EUR model (like in the UK?).
