Can't remove rear door handle carrier
What the hell is not allowing it come out of the door panel??!!!! Cursed myself a billion time, something is catching and not letting it come out.
I can get like 65% of it and the back by the the lock cylinder part gets stuck on something preventing to drop out. Can't see crap so working blindly isn't helping. |
Did you unlatch the Bowden cable?

I haven't done the back yet but the front more or less is the same problem until I rotate the thing almost 90° (front side down).

To get mine out, I needed to remove the locking pin/bolt thing.
I mean the little bolt thing that pops up and down when you lock/unlock the door. I used a set of needle nose pliers and a torch, gripped it in the middle of the bit or wire where there is a plastic latch it slots into (you can see it with a torch), push it until it clicks out of the latch point and then lower it down and remove from the inside of the door. Then you can get the carrier out. |
Can't remove rear door handle carrier
Translating to "American": he used a flashlight! A [propane] torch would melt stuff maybe start a fire.
I have a PDF of a complete repair manual I'll see if it has the steps. |

Hahaha. The French word for flashlight is “torche” too. |
I have a feeling "torch" is metric for "flashlight" not sure of many metric using places that don't say torch.

Read through the repair manual about six times and there is no indication of the need to remove the lock pin. That being said it sounds like a lot more room to work
|
hahahaha, yes torch in Aus is flashlight in US!
I also had never read anything about needing to remove the locking pin, and I didn't need to do it for the front door, only the back. I tried for a while to get the carrier out, but there was no way it would get past the pin. The pin comes out and goes back quite easily once you work out how to pop it out the first time. If you can't get the carrier out, pop the pin out, and then there is no problem. |
