Spare Tire With BBK

I recently installed a BBK on my X and tested out the spare tire on the front and realized it doesn't clear. I know the X5m come standard with big calipers on the front. I was wondering if anyone knows if these would work or what are the other BBK users doing about spare.

You can always mount a rear wheel on the front, & the spare on the rear in an emergency.

I am using a front wheel from an E70. I think it is 19" but *may be an 18. It clears the 6pot calipers I have on the front.

Thanks I’m going to do a test run this weekend to see if it will clear the back brakes. I imagine it will since I have spacers on rear also.

Does that fit in spare tire well flush?

Wheel styles play a HUGE role .

The 19" RAC forged wheels from Japan cleared the 8 piston BBK just fine.
Right now, it's 20" and AAA card in the wallet as the spare tire ;-)

In the trunk boot (below the load floor), I do keep a plug a patch box and inflator there.
It's amazing how much crap one picks up with 20"s and how fast the air goes

This is exactly why the 4.8iS has a "space saver" spare wheel - any other wheel type that is sized to clear the larger brakes won't fit under in the floor in the trunk (boot).

Yes, but that may only apply to the OE wheels

Not sure what BBK meant for the OP

If an X5M came with a spare then that spare should work with an E53 wirth BBk on it. I'm just not sure that E70 X5M came with a spare. Might have had an inflator system like other M vehicles.
