rear suspension Bushing tool

My x5 requires change of bushing any recommendations for the type of C clamp press that could do the job.

You might need to be more specific about which rear bushing - there are lots!

The lower ball joints (one each side) require a special tool, as do the sub-frame bushings (two each side). many of the other can be changed with standard tools.

Rear Trailing Arm Suspension Bushes might also be called lower ball joints, I think!?
What sort of spacial tool are we talking about?

Mine is currently squeaking like a bed-frame at a cheap brothel. but subframe bushing is PITA job. so i'm driving it like that.

You need a special ball joint press that has a flat side machined on it to clear the knuckle. Here's the factory tool...

There are plenty of aftermarket options.

Just so you know, the "universal" tools won't work on our E53. there is a bolster on the wheel carrier that requires a flat spot on the tool.

I always buy a good quality special tool and deduct that cost from the DIY labor savings even if I think I will never use it again. Sometimes local car parts stores will have what you need for just a deposit which is returned when the tool is returned. Invariably the right tool saves a lot of time and frustration.
