Rear Hatch rattle! Yes I've searched!

I have a rattle in the hatch, very annoying, happens over every single bump and imperfection on the road and believe it's all the surrounding plastic trims but when I removed them and everything was secure and any broken push clips were replaced. It's definitely a plastic rattle sound.

I even sat in the cargo area and had a friend drive around and even me holding it down it made noise :dunno: (albeit reduced a bit as I couldn't pinpoint where to hold down) so I have no idea what it could be?!

I've adjusted the bumper stops, put felt tape on the latch and no results.

Could it be the hatch struts maybe?

Ran out of possibilities and ideas, need some help here guys, where else to look or try?

Drive with hatch open. Sound still there?

When driving and noise present, press up against the pano roof above your head. That may be the source.

The roof usually sounds like metal to glass but yes check that!

Driving with hatch open you should for sure determine if hatch or body.. my guess if you can't find is a part broke off inside the hatch frame you'll need an inspection fiber optic camera to look inside to determine.

I would also check for any loose items at the bottom of the side pockets in the cargo area. I found like 10 year old spare nuts, bolts & pieces of tape while doing a radio mod, and they are not possible to remove without taking out the cd changer & it’s accompanying bits. Granted, in my case there weren’t any noises but you might as well check the entire under cargo area as stuff falls in there pretty easily.

Mine rattled until I adjusted those two black bumpers.

It's not the pano roof, held it down with the shade opened and made no difference.

Haven't tried driving with the hatch opened but in the meantime I ordered the updated spring loaded bump stops.

Finally fixed!!!

I guess my hatch bump stop adjustment was still off after me "adjusting" it.

Ordered the updated spring loaded version and boom! No more rattle!!!

That's awesome! Could you please share the part number of that bump stop?
