SwingArm Bushings

For those that have done your swingarms, has anyone has success with pull cups ? I've got a full bevy of sizes in the drawer but not 2 ton press lying around.

I don’t know if that will work. My 2 ton scares the crap out of me doing those. Seems like it’s the craziest shit I ever pressed with the way my HF press starts groaning.

Ha. I've lubed the shit out of the rod and just slowly pressed bushings out in the past. I have cheated and used a impact to pull the rod instead of a ratchet. Nothing has yet to shatter..

Someone send me a 4 post lift. I don't like working on my feet or back

I had mine done by a machine shop. I wouldn't recommend doing it with the pull cups. You might be able to get them out that way, but getting the new ones in will be a PITA. The bushings have to be compressed before being inserted into the swing arm.

I went ahead and bought harborfreight 12 ton press tool for $95. It's not taking much space in my garage. I tried to use a regular press tool and just gave up. Those bushings take tremendous force to work with.
