Purge valve connection

1 Attachment(s)
Disconnecting the purge valve the other day I yanked on the circled tube in the attached image too hard and it came out at the other end. Does anyone know where it connects?

Thanks!

PB Blaster Silicon or any Silicon spray is a lifesaver when replacing hoses and moving stuff out of the way. Were you trying to remove the intake? What's the year and engine model? I'll try and find some answers for you.

This is the real gem diagram for it.. it's tilted on it's side though. The "bottom" line coming off it while oriented in the vehicle snakes off the drivers side (LHD).

Hope this helps some.

Looks like a 3.0L engine. That hose goes to the bottom of the intake manifold.

It is a 3.0L 2001. The OEM diagram looks like it goes to the throttle casing. Otherwise, where on the bottom of the manifold? Do I need to remove anything to get to the connection?

Good lord, I may need to remove the manifold....but first I'll try what post #30 did and see if I can get it.

Thanks a bunch Emory39!

As a follow up to future folks who make experience this issue. I was able to reconnect the tube to the sleeve under the intake manifold. I did not want to risk the same thing happening again so instead of snaking the hard plastic tube behind the ccv I simply brought it as close to the purge valve and connected a flexible rubber tube about 6 inches long from the plastic tube into the purge valve.

To reach the underside of the manifold I removed air filter and connecting boots, 3 bolts connected to the electrical module in that general area and the throttle casing. The tube is directly to the rear of the throttle casing if you are on the driver side of the vehicle, you’ll need to reach down and up and experience a fair bit of pain.

I was also getting a bunch of misfire codes when it wasnt connected, heres the list: P0174, P0300,P1348, P1344, P1352, P1346, P1350, P1342, P0171.

If I had been more careful I would have spared myself this huge pain of a job.

Good luck!
