4.8is parts used on the 4.4i?

I'm hunting down the last few gremlins right now on my X5, and coming up with some odd results.

I have a Camshaft position sensor fault, so I'm looking for the replacements.
I know that my intake cam sensor on bank 2 (drivers) is this part.

But the site says that I should really be running 4 of these guys:

I know this isn't the case because I've just been through it all, and the wiring loom for intake cam sensor on bank 2 has a fuel injector style connector on the wiring loom on top of the fuel rail, so it is pretty specific.

Also when diagnosing a belt problem, my PS pump is the same as the is pump and not the adjustable found on the 4.4i (typically).

Was there some mid-model year changes on the N62 in this build date, or did I get a frankstein parts car from factory or is the online db's just incorrect?

Seems like the database is incorrect.
In the family we have 2 '04 4.4, '05 4.4, '06 4.4, and a '06 4.8 All of them have the different bank 2 intake sensor with the bank 1 intake and both exhausts being the same.

The M series V8 uses a different loomed sensor than the N series 4.8is V8, so I'm at a loss for which one goes in. Going to do the 4.8is first to see if that does the trick.

The facelift refresh of the series starting in '04 uses the N62 engine for the V8s 4.4i and 4.8is

Just for an update since I'm into this today.

You need one 12147539172 cam position sensor on the US drivers side intake cam. This goes against what you'll find on BMW's parts DB and against what you'll find on parts suppliers dbs.

If you're unsure, just take a look. If the sensor has a moulded lead coming off it, not a clip, you need one 12147539172.
