I have the 510. Yes, I have the key on the "on" position, car not running. And I have INPA on a lap top, 7/8 are bridged and the F'n thing only connects to the car when it feels like it. Need to order another cable and see if that helps. Plus I have no idea how to use those programs, but trying to decipher it all. Was hoping that the 510 would be a quick and easy way to diagnose problems.

510 will do a fine job of quickly finding problems. It won't work if there is a hardware problem between the scanner and the module being tested though.

Run auto scan and save each code and clear each code. Address and codes that return

Ok. I had a similar problem before and it was that my OBD2 port had a small crack in the block and it shit the bed.

I put in a new (to me) OBD2 and that solved my connection issues. :dunno: but it's something to consider.
