For those who have DINAN goodies
Question since I am having a hard time finding out the answers. I've also received different answers.
Will a DINAN Cold Air Intake system work interchangeably on a 4.6iS and 4.8iS? In pictures I see no difference, but I've been told by a former employee at DINAN that they would not work?? I tried comparing part numbers but couldn't even find the part number for 4.8iS DINAN system. I have a possible lead on a CAI that I may want to purchase for my 4.8iS and I want to be sure it'll work. D760-0530 D760-0534 |
D-176-32 is the number on the carb sticker of my 4.8is CAI. Doubt that helps you any... but that's the only info on the unit I saw without taking anything apart.

Do you have the instructions? Maybe a part nUmber is on there.

Possibly intake pipe difference?

Throttle body part has different part numbers from a 4.6 to 4.8 but that could just be because of model year. I’d be very surprised if the intake piping was different

The cold air 'box is designed specifically for the 4.6 so if anything changed on a 4.8 where it is positioned it would have to be modified. That shouldn't be hard to do. It's just thin metal.
The tube from the MAF housing to the throttle body is one solid plastic piece. I wouldn't mess with that. The system uses a larger diameter Dinan MAF housing and throttle body. I don't know if the bolt pattern on the 4.6-4.8 intakes are the same. If not that would be a killer. Dinan stated that system added 14HP and 11ft/lbs of torque on a 4.6. Only way I know to find out if it fits is have someone with a 4.6 let you try theirs for fitment. |
It’s just very odd it’s hard to find out this information. I’ve definitely seen the CAI in 4.8iS

Very close to pulling the trigger on this CAI I found that is not listed anywhere. Might take the risk and hope that the CAI system fits on both iS models.

The part# might be different for the maf tube/housing. The 4.6 and 4.8 have different maf sensors from what I remember. Different physically like the mounting positions.
If you are just installing just the filter and heatshield it should be the same. |
