e53 4.4 no start camshaft crankshaft sensor code

Few days ago my x5 4.4 m62tu just stopped on the road - engine is off.... then i was able to switch on engine again then after few secound engine is off again :/then no engine reaction ,just crank but after 30 minutes i was able to turn engine on but after few secound engine is off again :/

i getting camshaft sensor error code and crankshaft sensor error code. I waiting for both sensors now.

Today morning i wanted to try again if i can turn engine on but i can only hear crank and nothing more.

Its possible that my camshaft sensor is completly dead and i can't turn engine on when engine is cold ? i thought that if camshaft sensor is dead then i will be not able to turn engine on only when is hot but no problem with start when engine is cold ? i am wrong ?

Sorry for my english
I thought

Engine requires both cam and crank sensors to run at all. If it loses either sensor data it will shut off to prevent self destruction.

It determines when to spark and fuel using the sensors.

You must have had a failure that was intermittent and temperature related where it would work at certain temps not others.

Engine will start if your camshaft sensor is disconnected :) i heard this many times , i cant try this coz my car is in garage now. Yes , its related to sensor temperature , when hot it won't start but my question is ..there is anybody who had experience with dead camshaft sensor and i won't start even when engine is cold ?

here is about disconnection camshaft sensor :

Interesting about the limp home no cam sensor. I guess when I had no start from cam sensor it didn't have no signal or had a screwy signal. It seems you could possibly diagnose a bad cam sensor by unplugging it. (As long as crank sensors is working).

If I couldn't start and had cam error I would probably unplug the cam sensors and try to start maybe get one more piece of data. With errors on both seems unlikely unless one has been bad for a while and then the other finally also failed. I would be concerned there is a wiring / connector problem to have both with errors.

A dying fuel pump will not throw up a code. Start but dies sounds more like you got a fuel delivery problem.

i was thinking about it but i tested it and there is pressure on fuel rail. Well , i didnt have camshaft and crankshaft sensor codes before....

You can get random cylinder errors when fuel pump dies. "misfire with fuel cut off". I think when the pressure is too low you'll get misfires and the computer will shut off the offending cylinder.

i don't think so that it fuel pump or something , it didnt explain why i have camshaft and crankshaft errors ;) i never heard that when there is problem with fuel pump then you will see camshaft sensors code ;)

FWIW: I only got cylinder with fuel shutoff errors when my cam sensor failed. Never a CPS related error.

Hopefully, you used a fuel pressure gauge to test for adequate pressure and not just push the valve and she spritzes so it must be good.
