Thinking about buying this car

Hey guys
i am thinking about buying this car

it is 2004 but it is pre facelift, wierd.
it is 3.0 and is driven 158.000 km

I live in Iceland and it is not so many e53´s for sale here. So i want to know where i can find a site that sells cool bodykit, kidneys and headlights for this car. Or should i just wait and try find a facelift model?

.. also what is your thoughts on the interior?

Clockwork 03-06-2019 06:52 PM

personally, I like the interior.
BUT I'd recommend you buy what you want instead of whats available. Wait and you will be happier.
If you are sticking to the 3.0i then you will probably be just as happy buying this as a facelifted version. Yes a slight look difference, but that interior... may be hard to come by that again.
NOW if it was a decision between the V8 of the pre-face lift or face lifted vehicle, then that a bit of a different story.

The facelift is nice, but imo I can live with a pre-facelift if some halo rings are installed in the housings. Not much difference past that to me. I love that interior.

I own both the early and late x5's. Wait on the facelift.

Xdrive which comes on the facelift is worth the price of admission :)

Not sure I could own a pre facelift truck as they look so much older to me. Just a personal opinion. That interior however, is amazing. I would swap that into my 4.8is in a heartbeat.

What information do you have that indicates its a 2004 model year? As of today, I have owned 2 early production '04's. One an Oct '03 and the one today a December '03 production.

There are some differences in early production before April(?) 2004 (I think), but they all include the LCII appearance and XDrive. If you have found an LC1 with Xdrive, you have the most odd factory Unicorn around. If it was added later (totally possible- but some would ask 'why')

I got that info from the owner. It was registerd registered 05.13.2004. So is there a possibility that this car have xdrive and all that instead of the facelift look?

If you can get the ViN or at least the last 7 you'll know pretty much everything...

The owner might not know what model year it is. When I bought my '01 (built in June 2001), right up until the PO emailed me a photo of the title as we were about to close the deal, he thought it was a 2002. Slight difference in my case is that there really is not much difference at all between 01 and 02, vs. your situation of 03 vs 04.
