We are sad to announce that we’ve closed our doors after 45 wonderful years. We have loved being part of your community and are working on options to ensure that the #BavarianAutosport name will live on. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to us over all these years.

I used to buy from Bavauto in the 1990s.

Then new competitors showed up...rmeuropean...eeuroparts...FCPeuro etc.

Bavauto closes shop either from old-age retiring vs killed by competitors.

Bummer to hear this but they definitely weren't the cheapest option on the market. Especially for the same brand parts.

oh well, welcome to the internet as it opens up multiple opportunities for new business models as well as presents threats to brick and mortar locations. Sorry to see these guys go as they did have a few items I have purchased over the years. As mentioned above, not the cheapest but they had good service.
RIP

So if I like... Had a lifetime warranty for my KONI's through them... am I up the creek?

Hopefully the video tutorials stay up

Hate to see them go. I didn't use them much because I hated their website store part. Compared to other sites it was hard to use and annoyed me.

But losing a supplier in our niche market is always bad.

RIP... I used to ogle and drool over ever BavAuto catalog I would get back when my first car was an '83 528e.

I'll be pouring one out for them. :(

I grew up 10 minutes from Bav and worked in the warehouse as a teen. This is a very sad day for the BMW world.

I think I have a set of Bavarian Autosport springs for the E39 around here somewhere. I've been lusting after them since my 1st car, the '75 2002. Wow. 32 yrs now.

Sad to see them go.

Sad to see them go. I bought nearly all of my stuff at BavAuto over the last 3-4 years.

Their old website was kinda horrifying to look at but useable. Their new site was slick looking but I seemed to have trouble finding parts on the new site that I'm pretty sure they had in stock. Don't know if that hurt their sales. Couldn't have helped.

Green Dragon 03-13-2019 01:26 AM

Awww Damn it! I remember lusting over their catalog that came to my door in the '90's. My e30 318i got a few needed parts.;) Another one now gone worth mention is BMP out of Tyler Texas. The "World Wide Web" turns 30, and the world as we know it changes....RIP
