BMWCCA Oktoberfest?
 

Anyone planning to go? I went last year and it was great. This year it’s at Plant Spartanburg, home of our X5s. Would be great to have a huge turn out!

Awesome. Not sure when I plan on heading down, but either way would be great to meet up with others on the grounds.

My schedule is open that week so I am in. For those coming from the north, we have plenty of room at the house for a night's stay before heading down. I am basically an hour away from the Spartanburg plant. :thumbup:

I don't know if we can make it this October or not. The wife and I are planning to do a vacation thru there next year for sure.

I am planning to attend but no X5 as I will drive my Z4. I have never attended a BMW CCA Oktoberfest before because of the distance, but since this one will be about a 7.5 hour drive and near the Mother Ship I have to go!

The girlfriend wants to attend so most likey rolling up there.

I would luv to plan on it... Amancuso, let me know if you want to caravan down there... Overboost, I might take you up on your offer in exhange for case and Wine of your choice... thanks

Hmmm... the wife and I just found a property we are interested in. Needs a lot of work though (read: it needs a lot of $$$). If it falls through, a trip in the X5 sounds like a blast. We haven't had more than a couple of days away from the kiddos. Time to start lining up baby sitters. :)

Tuesday, October 15- Saturday 19, 2019.

2019 BMWCCA 50th Oktoberfest at the Spartanburg plant has started this week. It's raining all day today but the weather looks good the rest of the week so looking to go down this Friday and Saturday. Anyone planning on going? I'm an hour away and welcome anyone coming to meet up and drive down. Plenty of room here at the house for travelers coming from the north to stay and rest before going down. :thumbup:

So a little disappointed in the registration for the BMWCCA Oktoberfest. First you need to be a BMWCCA member to register. Minimum cost $48 for 1 year. Then you need to cough up the full $55 for the Oktoberfest registration even for one day. So $103 seems a bit steep for me to have a look around so it looks like I will not be going. :(

^That IS disappointing. I guess Michelin didn't pony enough sponsorship money up so they are wringing the attendees? ;)

I wouldn't mind the $55 fee for all week but a single day event option should be available. And to turn away anyone because they are not a BMWCCA member and charging another $48 just makes it a no go for me.

Gville is nice in October. First time here and first time at an Oktoberfest. I can recommend if you can make it. My baby is home!

Ended up going down to Oktoberfest today for the day to see the BMW Performance Driving School event scheduled for today. Got a chance to congratulate my friend, factory BMW driver Bill Auberlen on his 60th IMSA win last week at Petit Le Mans tying the record set by Scott Pruett in 2016 before retiring.

I thought I would see a lot more E53, E46 enthusiasts running around but maybe if I had stayed for a few days I would have seen more. Tonight was the dinner held at the downtown Greenville Hyatt and a barbecue tomorrow but spots were completely sold out so there was no point in staying.

Anyway, some photos from the event and I have to say, the best thing I saw was the Isetta race to lead off the event! :bustingup

@Overboost Too bad I didn't know you were coming and wanted to stay for today as I have to head out of town early and would have been happy to give you what you needed to take my spots for later today....

Man, I wish I knew one of our family was there! I would have loved to say hi and meet. I went by myself and just spent time with anyone and everyone talking, asking where they were from and what BMW's did they have. I had a great time and enjoyed the event at the BMW Performance Center. :wavey:
