Hi
Can someone please tell me where to find item 4 in the picture enclosed and how to get at it. My system is showing the fndc solenoid open and I need to check it out

It's listed under the front axle diagrams on RealOEM. From what I have read it is under the car and judging by its shape I'd guess it's under the plastic guards that run along the passenger side. Hopefully someone will chime in with first hand knowledge of it's location.

It looks like it’s a complete unit so not going to be able to get to individual solenoid but at least I can try and find it

The solenoid may be the black assembly to the left of the large reservoir. :dunno:

Good luck getting that plastic cover off (completely) - it has a lot of fasteners and many are hard to reach - some are impossible to reach without pulling out the rear fender liner (which requires single-use plastic fasteners to replace). :rolleyes:

You can undo a few 6mm bolts along the forward edges and pivot it down enough to get in and change a fuel filter (my 3.0d fuel filter is under one of these covers) so that my give you enough room to check out the solenoid. Access won't look like the image above though - more like this: -

*EDIT* - example only - the accumulator assembly is actually on the other side of the car. :thumbup:

Here's a PP article showing access to the petrol fuel filter - it may help with access to the accumulator (reservoir) location.

Just keep in mind the accumulator (reservoir) is on on the other side - don't go tearing into this side - CW's comment about it being on the passenger's side is referring the the vehicles RIGHT side - not the LEFT (as is the passengers side for you and i). :thumbup:
