Pretty basic diagnostics chief.....compression test, oil pressure test, etc. And would help if you provided what car you are asking us to help you with!

Don’t know yet keeping my fingers crossed it’s a injector but they nearly $400 each

Thanks won’t know the verdict till next week one person I spoke to seems to think that if it’s just the injection the computer will shut the engine down still has oil and it turns so it’s not seized

There's a number of failures that can cause your symptoms, although the warning about injectors eliminates a few of them (turbo etc.).
LPFP (either of them) failure, HPFP failure, glow plug failure (breaking off, leading to loss of compression), EGR blockage and failed injectors could all be considered possibilities. The specific error message (codes) might help narrow it down. It's unlikely to be the boost system (turbo, intercooler etc.). The smoke you mention is usually associated with unburnt fuel, more commonly due to too much fuel being injected (injector failure) but also possibly not enough air charge (blocked EGR) although the MAP sensor will usually alert the DDE to this issue. |
thanks no verdict yet regretting taking the car to my second choice they ran the battery flat trying to start it spaying brake cleaner into it then told me i have a bad battery now they are taking all the injectors out to send them to be tested and charging the battery i hope
