I run heavier oil anyway. When I go out of my way to order it I use 5w40 LubriMoly along with some AT205 (valve stem seals) and almost never smoke on extended idle anymore. Has to be like 15 minutes or more of just idle.

I'll be doing an oil change this weekend. I'm going to try Lubrimolly 10w60 full synth. We'll see what happens. I have 233,000 miles on my M54 and I do changes every 5000 miles, so figure I can't do much harm. We'll see what happens.

I just looked at my Amazon history and realized I always call it LubriMoly. It's actually Liqui-Moly. Not sure why or when I started getting the name wrong... lol but I've been doing it consistently for a long time. ;)

I think it used to be called Lubromolly, but they changed the name. I still occasionally see Lubromolly products on ebay. Must be old stock.
