No you eliminate the entire thing. There’s some ibus you could get don’t think it’s mandatory but I’m not 100% could have told you more if my damn deck worked. I don’t have dsp though either.

You need the iBus adapter and app on the system to send the handshake message to the DSP system that everything is operational. Without that message the DSP will run for 30 seconds and turn off if it even turns on at all.

The early adopters of the Android systems had to leave the mid and CD in the system to complete the handshake message but once the iBus interface was developed, it made it possible to take all those components out of the system.

There is a lot of aftermarket head units and DSP discussion on this on the site.

If you are going to try and make your Eonon (or any aftermarket Android head unit) work then you will certainly need to add the iBus app and adapter in your system to send the DSP system the messages needed to operate.

So I can't say I have ever used the Eonon but the BMW DSP system needs the messages to work. My Avin Avant-4 definitely works with factory BMW DSP as an Android system so I can only assume the Eonon (or any aftermarket Android system) with the same iBus adapter and app would work.

The only other aftermarket system that claims it is plug and play with factory BMW DSP is the Dynavin N7 but it is not an Android operating system and adding any apps personalizing your system is not possible. It runs a closed proprietary DynOS operating system. What you get is what you get.

My best advice is to try the iBus app and adapter on your Eonon and see if it works. On the chance it doesn't work, you would still need the adapter for an Avin if you go that route. One thing I am very certain of is the Avin Avant-4 works, that's what I used.

There are only 3 wires need for the iBus adapter, 12V, GND and iBus (k-bus) signal. You would need to wire it in but like I said, it is only 3 wires. (The Avin comes prewired for it)

1 Attachment(s)
You need the app AND the adapter. It wires in to the 3 wires I listed and the other end plugs into one of your USB cables on the Eonon.

I did 4 posts above. Post #14

You will need the adapter (interface) for 29 Euros and the OBC and DSP License for 40 Euros

Hi mate... ok sometimes it can seem daunting not knowing where to start but there are lots of folks here who can help or have been where you are. Because of the vast amount of knowledge here the search function is a huge benefit.

To get the unit in and get access to the rear you are going to need to remove the business CD and the MID, along with taking out the glove box.

Do a search on the forum here for "remove glovebox". On the second page of results you will see a result called "Glove Box Removal".. read down and you will see one of the forum members has posted pics on a step by step basis.

Now do a search "eonon install" and you will see lots of results showing how to remove the MID and CD, along with queries, tips and what works re DSP etc.

Lot's of reading before you start but then it's pretty straight forward as one of the other members has often figured it out.

Good luck
