Scan tool on sale

Just saw this from ECS tuning. Great scanner, easy to use, intuitive and full featured. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...020sch01a~scf/

That's a nice price. You can add other brands for $60@. I have 4 in mine now.

BMW module is badass compared to GM and Toyota so much more detail

Other reports on here indicate that Schwaben thing is a re-branded Foxwell NT510, which is known to be a good tool. I bought my Foxwell NT520Pro based on the good reports on the NT510. There are mechanical differences (e.g., membrane buttons for Pro vs. mechanical for non-Pro), not sure what exactly changed from 510 to 520. As far as I can tell, they are functionally the same.

The Foxwell ones typically sell for around this price (150) on eBay, so getting it from ECS is definitely a competitive offer.

I'm happy with my NT520Pro, but have not really needed to do anything too tough on it yet.

Main difference is 520 can do Mercedes. I'm sure the function is identical as they use add in modules. I'm most interested in the display difference since the 510 is terribly low resolution

You are correct, I have the Schwaben private branded by Foxwell for BMW and Mini. I haven't needed anything else. What I like best is that it is very intuitive so it is very seldom necessary to refer to the directions.

In addition to Mini, the BMW software option also works on Rolls Royce. Just in case your butler needs to reset the service light after doing an oil change.

I agree on the simplicity and apparent power (as yet not really tested yet, by me). I did waste some time on it up front just due to the confusing use of Chinese English in instructions for registering the device, software update, etc. Also, had some problems with the one for my Cayenne where the on-screen instructions were referring to an "ESC" button - there is no such thing, and I'm pretty sure they meant the "BACK" button. Easy to figure out stuff like that when everything else is working, but when other stuff is not working, minor inaccuracies like that can cause problems.
