Navigation/Head Unit
Hey Everyone - I have an 05 4/4i w/ 97k & I'm the original owner. For sometime now I've had issues w/ the navigation/headunit in the truck. for instance, the buttons randomly work, the screen has no color except green, radio shuts on/off randomly, on/off button randomly works. This is all besides the dead pixels on the screen.
Anyway, I read all the dynavin/eonon threads but for some reason I'm thinking to just have the unit repaired. Have any of you used Hi-Tech Electronics in CA? here's a link - https://hitechserv.com/ Should I go aftermarket? Should I repair? I appreciate all your opinions. Thanks in advance to all who answer. |

Lots of reasons for anyone to decide either way. The important thing is to know what is most compelling to you for either option. |
I went with a Android 8.0 unit from xtrons about 6 months ago in my Non-DSP '06 3.0 and am happy with it. Installation was a bit of a bear running a thick cable of wires from the back to the front, but worth it in the end. I changed only the head unit - plug an play with the long, additional harness required for cars with NAV, although have since replaced a couple of rear speakers that appeared blown.

The information you seek is included across quite a few active threads. Maybe take some time to look around and read for yourself. |

On the side note, I found the thread with all the android units, but had to dig through to see that yes, you can customize the dash cluster readings. |
