My 20" wheels and tires recommend 32 PSI front and 35 PSI rear but I run 30 all around to soften the ride. It felt a bit harsh at 35 PSI.

I have them at 37front and 39 rear. lol a bit harsh

I run 36 all the way around on my 20's. On all my vehicles really, regardless of wheel size. I think everyone has there own preference.

Is there anywhere online where I can download a copy of the handbook for my 2003 4.4i ?

Not sure, I just Googled 2003 BMW X5 Manual pdf and that was the first link that came up. Maybe dig around a little and see if there is a UK RHD version :dunno:

Plus 1 on these settings with 20" tires. If you use 35/36 psi in the rears you will have high wear in the center and you will be at the cords in 11K. All of this is assuming you normally run/drive with 1-2 people like most of us. All bets are off if you are racing on your daily commute! :)

With the skinny 19" wheels and tires you will have to run higher pressures just to keep the contact patch at max. Upgrade to the big boys!

I haven't experienced this. Will certainly change my habits if I do though. Usually don't have anyone in the vehicle with me either.

I guess it could be dependent in the specific tire on the vehicle. I have about 8,000 miles on my Conti Extreme Contact DWS now with almost zero wear running at those pressures. The ride was noticeably different from 35 to 30 in the rear.

32 psi all around with 19s.

Was running around 36 but changed to lower and ride comfort greatly improved.

I've got the 235/65R17s so it's not an apples to apples comparison, but I keep all four at 34 psi unless loaded with luggage and the PWC trailer, then I boost the rear to 38.

Now on the CEO's 428i with 235/45R18 run-flats, I keep hers at 32 psi to strike a good balance between even wear and not knocking your teeth together.

2002 X5 3.0 367,000 miles
2014 428i 65,000 miles

2004 325i sold at 123,600 miles
2001 325i sold at 66,000 miles

Front: 285/35/21 @ 33 lbs. Rear: 325/30/21 @ 40 lbs.

32psi all round on both sets 255/50 19 - 285/45 19 staggered as well as 235/65 17 all round. Usually just me in the car. In the event of higher load, longer trips, etc I’d add 5 psi to the rears.
