Anyone have an idea?
I am getting a vibration that I can feel in the steering wheel and hear almost like harmonics from the tires and (1-2 times a week) occasionally a (churp) sound as throttle is applied at speed, kind of like an aircraft's tire on landing. At speed and putting into neutral doesn't change the harmonic sound or lessen the vibration.
The vibration/harmonic sound seems to come from everywhere and the deep churp sound from the rear left side. I tried to make a recording but engine noise drowns out everything. I have all new subframe bushings and guibos plus all transmission and transfer case fluids are full (at temp)... Before I start taking things apart willy-nilly I thought maybe someone has had this or has an idea. Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk |
Similar issue on my end sans the “chirp”.....I do have some play in my cv axles and will be replacing. Hoping that will solve the vibration/tire noise issue.

Thanks Mouse.
I was thinking along the same lines but it doesn't match up all the way with CV issues so I just wanted other peoples opinions in case there was another reason. Fingers crossed!! [emoji1696][emoji1696] Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk |

Update...
Got home and started in this (seemingly weekly) journey and found a roached rotor, bad CV all on right front and possibly TC issue (leak at TC motor). Freaking Break My Wallet!! I would dive further into this tonight but the wife's laser eyes have burnt the skin off my back...[emoji849][emoji2959] For some reason I am sure I'll find more because... why the hell not!!! Oh, I'll be shining alright (looks over shoulder) due to the chapped ass I'm getting from the (looks again) old lady...[emoji1787]

Well.....[emoji2959]
I went to move the X and start teardown and sheeit..... 100% brake failure. No codes, but a sound of gurgling under steering wheel with a hard pedal. I'm going to say I now have a vacuum leak and wonder if it was caused by the rotor being warped making a chain of problems for me to discover..[emoji848] Has anyone else had a boiling sound under the steering wheel with a brake failure and if so what else did you find? Update
So.... gurgling noise is the vacuum pump. (replaced) Rotors and whole stack of brake parts (replaced) Engine mounts (replaced) Gearbox mount (replaced) Brake servo "booster" (replaced) Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk |
