Grasping at straws here, but it sounds fuel pump ish... How much fuel is in the car, does it make any difference in the sound if its parked facing up or down hill?

That's the frontof the x. Maybe a pulley, tensioner, etc? Hard to tell though. Looks like your x has a surplus of horsepower though because it sure is sweating the excess. ;)

I was thinking along the same lines but wondering if his leak was from the PS pump (don't ask how I know)[emoji850]

Makes no difference if parked up or down hill, and fuel is half tank. If it helps, its mostly when engine is cold it makes that noise.

Haha ye, was dripping for a while but seems to have stopped. Never did find out where it was leaking from.

But you may be right, the sound does kind of sound like a bad bearing from a pulley or something.

Dont think its PS pump cos the fluid level does reduce over time?
