QuickJack 7000EXT for the X5
4 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to make a thread for anyone looking to buy the QuickJack lift for their X5. The most popular model is the 5000SLX rated at 5000 lb maximum capacity, and although our X5's are just crossing that maximum capacity, I went with the 7000 lb. version as I didn't want to be at an absolute limit while in the air and working underneath it.
There are also 2 versions of the next model, the 7000SLX and the 7000EXT. The SLX has a maximum lift point spread of 60" and our X5's are 62.5" center lift point to center lift point. The EXT has a maximum lift point spread of 66" and with the SUV/Truck height extenders, it is right on the money with little to spare. Sure enough the weather turned good today so I had a chance to assemble the QuickJack 7000EXT and set everything up. I can easily move around under the X5 now with the SUV extenders. This is going to make my suspension rebuilds much easier. Just an FYI, if you plan on going for the QuickJack for your X5, make sure to order the 7000EXT. |
Smart on the seven versus 5000 pound limit my car weighs over 5000 pounds most of the time. In fact I’ve had it weigh as much is 6500 pounds fully loaded and it’s 4700 pounds with an empty gas tank.
My typical weight distribution is 2400 pounds front 3200 pounds back. Knowing those numbers comes in handy every once in a while I need to squish something with about 1000 pounds of force I just drive over it with my front wheel. Best example is one of my folding hand dollies yeah I abuse it enough to bend it and about once a year I bend it back to straight by driving over it in the grass |

OP - funny you bring this up. I was the beta tester for this product. I cancelled my original order over 2 years ago of the 5000 after measuring the jack points on my cars finding minimal will work with the product.
The VP of sales reached out to me and said they had heard of need for a longer base and asked me to measure my fleet and those dimensions are based on measurements from my vehicles including and especially the x5. They sent me the final specs asked me to confirm then mocked up a unit and sent to me. I tested on all my cars even bought the SUV kit and it worked very well. Glad you also found success with the unit. Happy wrenching! |

I have the option to buy QJ from a friend.
Do you think it's almost easier to just use a jack & jackstands ? |
Easier? You decide. https://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/im...ilies/rofl.gif
